Why We Launched the Polaris LaunchPad

Something I hear, again and again, is this:
“I’d love coaching, but..."
My organisation doesn't provide it. I can't afford it. I don't know where to find a coach.
What's concerning is this usually comes from brilliant, motivated, high-potential people. The kind who ask hard questions. Who lead informally, even if their title doesn’t say so yet. Who are navigating stretch roles, career transitions, or leadership for the first time.
In other words: the leaders we’ll be relying on tomorrow.
That’s why we created the Polaris LaunchPad.
LaunchPad is our new initiative to offer free, high-quality coaching to people who would benefit deeply from it but don’t currently have access through their employer.
We believe coaching can be a catalyst. For confidence. For clarity. For change.
And we want to put that catalyst in the hands of people who are often overlooked or underfunded.
Who’s it for?
Emerging leaders without formal support
People in transition - stepping up, stepping in, or between jobs
Future change-makers who just need someone in their corner
LaunchPad is not a handout. It’s a vote of confidence in untapped potential.
Why now?
Because leadership isn’t about title. It’s about how you show up and right now, we need more people showing up with courage, care, and clarity.
I've been incredibly lucky. Supported by brilliant clients, generous mentors and a strong community of coaches who have believed in what I and we do at Polaris Consultants.
This is our effort to pay back some of that generosity.
Supporting the coaching community
LaunchPad is also about investing in the coaching profession.
We’re inviting our community of qualified coaches to partner with us - to offer time, energy and insight to people who may one day shape organisations, movements, or industries.
This isn’t volunteer burnout. It’s skilled, intentional practice. It’s coaching with purpose.
If you’re a coach who wants to give back in a meaningful way or looking to develop your practice, we’d love to hear from you.
Final thought
LaunchPad is a small start. But like any launch, it’s powered by belief: belief in people, in possibility, and in the ripple effects of a well-timed conversation.
To those who’ve supported us at Polaris: thank you. This initiative stands on your shoulders.
To those we haven’t met yet: if you think LaunchPad might be for you (or someone you know), get in touch.
