Building Leadership Trust and Strategic Alignment Through Coaching - Iconic National Arts Venue

How do you strengthen collaboration and cohesion within a senior leadership team?
A RENOWNED NATIONAL ARTS INSTITUTION APPROACHED US TO HELP STRENGTHEN COLLABORATION AND COHESION WITHIN ITS SENIOR LEADERSHIP COMMUNITY. THE ORGANISATION WAS SEEKING MORE THAN JUST BETTER MEETINGS—IT WANTED TO UNLOCK DEEPER TRUST, CROSS-FUNCTIONAL ALIGNMENT, AND A CULTURE OF SHARED LEARNING ACROSS TEAMS THAT OFTEN WORKED IN SILOS.
Challenge
The core challenge was to design a peer-based coaching programme that could do two things:
- Build capability across the leadership group for problem-solving and reflection
- Evolve into a self-sustaining model, where groups could eventually self-facilitate without ongoing external support
The programme needed to be relevant, practical, and capable of influencing live strategic challenges.
Solution
We partnered with the internal team to create a bespoke coaching sets programme. It began with a high-energy launch event to align participants on purpose and expectations.
From there, participants were split into small coaching groups (4–6 people) and paired with a Polaris coach.
Each group was introduced to a coaching protocol specifically designed for their context. Initial sessions were facilitated by Polaris, with the aim of moving gradually toward self-led practice. Between sessions, the groups met independently—then regrouped with their coach to refine their approach and deepen their skills.
Throughout the process, the focus was always on real-time challenges, trust-building, and practical leadership support.
Impact
The programme is still live—but early results are already promising. Groups are engaging consistently, peer facilitation is growing in confidence, and the sense of cross-functional connection is noticeably stronger. We’re looking forward to bringing the cohort together soon for a collective reflection, shared learning, and celebration of their journey so far.
